In 2004, we pulled into the driveway of what would become our new home—a cozy farmhouse in northern Baltimore County, complete with a pasture and an old dairy barn. With the barn now empty, it became a perfect space for our hobbies and creative projects. Before long, we were hosting candle-making parties with friends and family, filling the barn with laughter and the warm glow of handmade candles.
What started as a simple passion project slowly grew into a small business. In 2016, we sold our first wholesale order to a nearby shop, and soon enough, other local boutiques and gift shops began carrying our candles. As the business grew, we eventually outgrew the barn and moved into a dedicated space just down the road.
Now, we create farmhouse-inspired candles that are sold in over 2,000 high-end gift shops around the country. Through it all, we've remained true to our roots—a candle company born in a barn, fueled by creativity, community, and a love for simple, handmade beauty.
At Milk Reclamation Barn, we’re more than a team — we’re the Barn Crew. United by a shared passion for quality craftsmanship, we blend hustle with humor in equal measure. Whether we’re hand-pouring candles, packing up orders, or brainstorming the next scent drop, you’ll find us working hard, laughing louder, and always pushing forward together.
We believe in doing things the right way — not the easy way. Our culture thrives on creativity, camaraderie, and pride in our work. Every candle we craft reflects a team that cares deeply about the details, values collaboration over ego, and doesn’t mind cracking a few jokes while getting things done.
Being part of the Barn Crew means showing up for each other, owning your craft, and contributing to the continued success of one of the fastest-growing candle companies in the country. We’re building something special here — one clean-burning candle and one great teammate at a time.
